I love threads where people show off their cages! So I thought it would be fun to start one! Whatever cage you use, if it's rat suitable feel free to share! We can get so many ideas for ways to make our kids happier and enriched this way! I'll post my current layout in the comments.

I currently am using a single critter nation cage. I don't like the shelves. I feel like they limit my ability to use the space, so I use baskets and hammocks instead. THe blue one in the back right of the cage is my boys favorite as they can ALL 5 fit in it. It's from the dollar store. My boys were sadly from a back yard breeder in hoarding type situation and as such have been having lots of issues with bedding and URI's so I have switched them back to fleece. I do NOT recommend fleece to the average rat owner. It is HIGH maintenance and require extra cleanings to be safe. They have a 16" chinchilla wheel I bought from pandamonium pets on etsy.a toilet paper roll to make nests with(this also gets changed about once a week), Various hammocks which get switched out as dirty, (so about weekly), lots and LOTS of hanging chew toys, a large ceramic bowl so they can't flip it, 2 litter boxes which get changed weekly or as needed(I've been changing twice a week the past two weeks) and a megablocks boat that I picked up for 2.00 at goodwill. Waterbottles hang on the outside with spouts pointing in to prevent chewing. Oh my "pans" are made from coroplast and nearly a year old. No nibbles at all. If I forgot anything feel free to ask!
